Robert Half Medical Receptionist in Albany, New York

Description We are searching for a Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is based in ALBANY, New York and falls within the medical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of administrative and receptionist duties, including handling phone calls, checking patients in and out, and maintaining medical records. This role provides a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Answering phone calls promptly, ensuring all messages are taken accurately and passed on to the relevant team member.

• Checking patients in and out according to established protocols, ensuring smooth patient flow.

• Scanning documents and ensuring they are correctly filed in patient charts.

• Utilizing medical software, such as Medent and Epic, to maintain electronic medical records.

• Performing basic administrative assistance tasks, such as managing patient medical records and maintaining an organized work environment.

• Handling billing functions, ensuring all invoices are accurately generated and sent out in a timely manner.

• Liaising with insurance companies as necessary to resolve any billing issues or inquiries.

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for various administrative tasks, as necessary.

• Ensuring patient confidentiality at all times, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Continually developing skills and knowledge of receptionist duties within the medical industry. Requirements • Proficiency in using medical software for maintaining and updating patient records

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis

• Experience with billing functions and insurance procedures in a medical setting

• Strong understanding of receptionist duties including managing appointments, answering phone calls, and greeting patients

• Ability to maintain electronic medical records accurately and confidentially

• Familiarity with administrative assistance tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation

• Experience in handling patient medical records with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

• Knowledgeable in the use of EMR - Electronic Medical Records for efficient and accurate data handling.
