Ulland Brothers, Inc., is a Civil/Highway-Heavy, aggregate and site development contractor with offices in Carlton, Virginia and Albert Lea, MN. Ulland Brothers has operated in the construction industry for over 100 years. The position of Mechanic reports directly to the Equipment Manager. This is a safety sensitive position.

Job duties include working on all types of mobile heavy construction equipment and trucks. This individual will be responsible for the inspection, preventative maintenance and repair of all types of equipment. Such equipment will include heavy equipment, trucks, and related machinery.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect equipment and components to verify safety and compliance with Mfg, OSHA and MSHA standards.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding future repairs.

  • Provide a high level of communication with both field and shop.

  • Perform additional assignments as requested including ongoing in person or online training.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum two to four years work experience with similar types of equipment.

  • Welding skills desired.

  • Proven Mechanical skills required.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Work various environments and working conditions depending on assignment.

  • Working at heights & some heavy lifting.

  • Overtime may be required.

  • Applicants must have a clean driving record. CDL Preferred.
