Responsibilities*

  • Develop genetic and genomic analysis workflows.

  • Bioinformatics (routine and exploratory) analysis for diverse biomedical research projects involving multidisciplinary researchers. The projects include laboratory, clinical and translational research and require collaboration with biomedical investigators, formulation of scientific goals, data cleaning and management, bioinformatics analysis to address aims and presentation of results.

  • Provide consultations to investigators or lab personnel about project & analysis needs, analysis results and next steps.

  • Assist in grant writing endeavors for collaborative or methodology grants.

  • Participate in research group meetings to formulate and refine research objectives.

  • Attend lab meetings and continuing education programs and events.

  • Participate in the writing of publications and other reports.

  • Mentor or co-mentor undergraduate or graduate students on analytic research projects.

Required Qualifications*

  • PhD degree in biology or physiology, and MS degree in computational biology or bioinformatics.

  • First author and co-author publications in biomedical journals.

  • Experience with wet lab experiments and familiarity with computational analysis of genomics data including bulk and single-cell RNAseq data and spatial omics data.

  • Proficiency in R, Python, and other standard bioinformatics software.

  • Experience collaborating with biomedical researchers.

  • Ability to multi-task.

Work Locations

This position may be eligible for remote and/or flexible work opportunities at the discretion of the hiring department. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the business needs of the hiring department, throughout the course of employment.
