Summary

The Michigan Clinical Consultation & Care (MC3) team is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated person with a background in communications to join our program team and the Department of Psychiatry's Mental Health Communications Community of Practice (COP). MC3 provides no-cost psychiatry consultations, education, and resources to health care providers in Michigan treating pediatric and perinatal patients with behavioral/mental health concerns. The person in this newly created position will be a critical member of the MC3 team and will report to the MC3 Communications Manager.

Responsibilities*

In this role, you'll work in a hybrid and virtual team environment to assist in the execution of communication strategies, develop written and visual content, maintain and update communication channels, and conduct communication channel performance reports in collaboration with and under the direction of MC3's Communications Manager. Your general responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and updating information collateral such as infographics, reports, toolkits, and Psychopharmacology Reference Cards.

  • Creating and updating web content, including optimizing web content for search.

  • Produce a quarterly e-newsletter and special messages for occasions such as Mental Health Awareness Month, Suicide Prevention Month, and responses to major news events.

  • Preparing promotional collateral for events, conferences, and special meetings (folders, notepads, miscellaneous swag, display banners, etc.).

  • Updating collateral for regional Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) and send biannual outreach messages on behalf of the BHCs.

  • Monitoring and analyzing marketing and communications performance using various analytics tools.

  • Collaborating with the MC3 program team in developing and maintaining the MC3 Sharepoint site.

  • Supporting various project teams by providing communications support on miscellaneous projects.

  • Assisting with additional duties as assigned. Our program and team continue to grow, along with our offerings, which may entail developing new skills and activities as time progresses.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three to five years of work experience in communications.

  • Highly motivated, organized, and autonomous, with strong attention to detail, excellent multi-tasking ability, and meticulous record-keeping skills.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Experience in web strategy, content creation, analysis, and maintenance.

  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, and email marketing software.

  • Ability to set priorities, handle multiple assignments, and negotiate deadlines all while being customer-service oriented.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the conventions of print production and web publishing.

  • Working knowledge of institutional policies and procedures, including Michigan Medicine Branding Guidelines.

  • Working knowledge of digital accessibility best practices.

  • Experience working within health care or educational settings.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Work schedules can be flexible, but the majority of working hours should typically be conducted between 8 AM to 5 PM.

Work Locations

This position is hybrid and will require working a minimum of 2-3 days each week on-site at the Rachel Upjohn Building. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the business needs of the department, throughout the course of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

In addition to the screenings indicated above under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
