The Financial Analyst, Program Cost Controls will perform monthly cost variance analysis reports and project forecasting while working with many internal and external stakeholders. This position will join the Connected Aviation Solutions Strategic Business Unit. CAS recently transitioned ERP systems to SAP and implemented a forecasting tool, Cobra. This position will work in a hybrid capacity. Candidate should live in a commutable distance to our Annapolis MD site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and reports on monthly Estimates at Completion (EACs) to ensure contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met for moderate size/complex programs/projects.

  • General understanding of the financial side of Project management such as labor planning, contractor labor tracking, material expense, accruals, and cost and schedule control.

  • With supervision, understanding of financial implications to projects and perform variance analysis (actual to prior & plan) on sales, cost, margin %, and billings.

  • Work with other members of the project leadership team: engineering, PM, contracts, FP&A, accounting, etc. to understand project resources, schedule issues, cost issues, vendor invoices, etc.

  • Assist with project status reviews (PSRs) on a monthly or quarterly basis – document requirements and updates to the forecasting model to ensure accurate EACs.

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand basic financial models and tools and work in them.

  • Interact with all levels of internal and external persona/customers on significant maters that require coordination between organizations – with respect and clear communication.

  • With supervision, develop solutions to a variety of problems of diverse scope that require data analysis – demonstrating good analytical skills and good judgement in selecting the method and techniques for obtaining the solutions.

  • With supervision, reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial budgetary reports to develop observations and preliminary recommendations.

  • Provides interpretation of financial data in spreadsheets, charts, and reports.

  • Creates new projects in accounting system and maintains for cost charging and time keeping.

  • Completes various ad hoc analysis and reports.

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of degree, 6 years prior relevant experience.

  • Must have proven experience with Excel: (create pivot tables, vlookup, sumifs, etc.)

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with SAP

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
