GE Healthcare Logistics Specialist in Arlington Heights, Illinois

Job Description Summary

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing shipments, reporting transportation metrics, identifying trends across global transportation methods and practices, managing data, ensuring that internal customers’ needs are met and that company policy and international trade compliance regulations are adhered to.

Our Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business is the number one global supplier of contrast media and molecular imaging agents used to enhance medical imaging exams. Used throughout all major disease area diagnostic and treatment pathways, PDx products support three patients every second around the world.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, coordinate and track both domestic and international shipments

  • Ensure airlines and carriers are selected based on company objectives for cost and delivery

  • Maintain shipping records, including providing tracking or shipping history information to customers on request

  • Prepare shipping paperwork and complete shipping transaction in appropriate systems

  • Coordinate Returned Material Authorization (RMA) process with customers

  • Overcome road blocks to ensure delivery is made in line with internal and external customers’ requirements

  • Supporting Variable Cost Productivity initiatives

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

  • Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Materials Management, Warehousing and

  • Customer Service to identify improvement opportunities and implement successful changes

  • Perform analysis of transportation spends and validation of supplier billing

  • Perform logistics distribution duties in compliance with current GDP as per annual GDP Training and local procedures’

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience working in logistics or supply chain; OR Associate’s Degree and 3 years of experience working in logistics or supply chain; OR High School Diploma and 5 years of experience working in logistics or supply chain

  • Computer skills, including experience with SAP and Microsoft Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak in local language

  • Ability to interface with customers and suppliers in a business professional manner on the phone and through e-mail

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including varying shifts and/or being on call as the business requires
