General Summary With close supervision, the Sheetmetal Specialist I fabricates and installs aircraft parts and assemblies in accordance with FAA requirements, GDMR-101, DUN-A-1, and Duncan approved procedures in a safe, clean and organized work area.

Essential Job Functions With close supervision, fabricates parts, assemblies and antenna doublers from sheetmetal, stainless steel and composites using correct fasteners in accordance with the DUN-A-1 and related FAA approved documents.

With close supervision, installs fabricated parts, assemblies and antenna doublers in specified aircraft locations in pressurized and non-pressurized aircraft. Performs basic troubleshooting skills.

With close supervision, disassembles and reassembles aircraft interior, instrument panels and avionics equipment bays prior to and/or following the installation of aircraft, using proper handling and storage techniques.

With close supervision, performs appropriate corrosion control process upon completion of parts and fixtures before installation in aircraft.

With close supervision, performs entry of a description of work completed on the work order and other required paperwork, documentation of all removal and installation of aircraft parts and accessories according to Installation procedures, and maintains personal training log.

Maintains current industry, equipment and FAA knowledge by attending factory classes, OJT and by researching and reading technical documents, trade publications, FAR's, etc. Assists lesser experienced technicians in interpreting Company policies and the FAR's.

Available to work all department alternate shifts as needed, and able to accomplish road trips within the United States and also other countries as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Specific Requirements Licenses/Certificates:  Valid driver's license and acceptable driving records; respirator fit eligible Attendance:  Regularly scheduled attendance required Physical:  Routinely lifts 50 lbs.; reads small print; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; works in confined spaces; works in heights above four feet; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting Environmental:  Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments

Education and Experience High School graduate or equivalent required One year previous sheetmetal, aircraft structures, fabrication or related experience required
