WK Kellogg Co Tax - Temporary Student Support in Battle Creek, Michigan

This position is a part-time Temporary Student Support (TSS) assignment that runs through May 2025 with the potential for an extension. This position in particular is hybrid and averages 15-20 hours per week during the school year with additional hours during the summer.

Join us at WK Kellogg Co as a Tax - Temporary Student Support! You’ll will work closely with the tax team, focusing on indirect tax and have significant opportunity to gain hands on accounting and tax experience using financial systems. You will also assist with a variety of tasks including preparation of tax returns with supporting workpapers, reconciliations, documentation of processes and procedures, special projects and other tasks that support corporate tax functions.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Assist with tax calculations for use tax, property tax, VAT, and income tax.

  • Use financial systems to prepare and review various tax reporting data while learning to use financial systems such as SAP, BW, Vertex and Artificial Intelligence tools.

  • Assist in implementing new technology for data analysis, data gathering and reporting.

  • Work with treasury to make tax payments and prepare journal entries.

  • Review use tax accruals and assist with monthly indirect tax compliance.

  • Answer vendor questions and provide exemption certificates when necessary.

  • Research tax issues and prepare conclusions.

  • Assist in responding to notices from tax authorities and preparing documentation for audits.

    YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • Currently, a student seeking an undergraduate degree or graduate degree – REQUIRED

  • Satisfactory computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work effectively in teams

  • Excellent organizational skills are required

  • College business school with major in Accounting

    Compensation Insights:

    Undergraduate Pay Rate: $18/hr

    Graduate Pay Rate: $25/hr
