Aerotek Tool Maker in BATTLE CREEK, Michigan

Description:

This candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, repair, and modification to tooling, large dies, and related machinery in a safe and orderly fashion in a Tier-1 automotive manufacturing facility.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Repair and maintain large production tools and dies (die casting)

  • Verify conformance of machined or repaired dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments

  • Troubleshoot issues during production

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and ARC welding and fabrication

  • Modify dies to conform to engineering changes; conduct tryouts of new dies

  • Work off blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions

  • Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion

  • Operate lift truck, overhead crane, floor scrubber and equipment to wash dies

  • Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software

Pay/Schedule:

  • Openings on 2nd and 3rd shift

  • 2nd Shift Hours - 2:30 PM to 10:40 PM (1 opening)

  • 3rd Shift Hours - 10:30 PM to 6:40 AM (2 openings)

  • Up to $39.70 an hour depending on experience and certifications

  • Possible 60-70 hour work weeks; Many opportunities for overtime available

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years tool and die experience or Journeyman card in tool & die

  • Highschool diploma or GED

  • Toolmaking experience experience

  • Operate machine tools such as TIG/MIG/ARC welders, lathes, and milling machines

  • Machining & Welding experience

  • Industrial maintenance/tool room experience

Plus:

  • Journeyman Card

  • High Pressure Die Casting

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level
