DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This professional Administrative Officer 1 position manages the administrative operational duties of all agency facilities and capital improvement projects for DBHS in both Bedford and Somerset County.  Participates in the development, recommendation, and administration of policies, procedures and processes with a focus on facilities and fleet management.  These duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining detailed records, supervising full-time and part-time maintenance and custodial workers, troubleshooting after hours issues as needed, and coordinating/negotiating/monitoring projects with contracted vendors. Assist in the development of the fleet budget and make recommendations.  Collaborate with administration, supervisors, and other departments, working together ensure a safe environment for all employees, consumers, and the public.  Participate in various committees, attend trainings as needed, and perform other related duties as required.

This position has a shared responsibility for assisting the Agency's executive team with overseeing and monitoring the Agency's operations 24/7.  This position may be required to work remotely during scheduled times off, off hours and/or weekends, or have the need for flexibility to work remotely during regular business hours, and therefore this position is considered an ongoing hybrid position for business necessity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This management position has the need for flexibility to work both remotely and in person. Therefore, this is considered an ongoing hybrid position for business necessity. Management staff may be required to work outside of the set work week, during scheduled times off, off hours and/or weekends to complete projects, meet work demands, or in the event of an emergency. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and a bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions. 

     

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
