Overview The Biology Tutor position entails providing academic support to students enrolled in BIOL 3060 at the USU Brigham City Campus. Successful candidates will possess a strong command of the subject matter and a proven track record of excellence in the field. A prerequisite for consideration is proficiency in the relevant academic discipline, along with completion of a Biology course aligned with the tutoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with instructors to understand course materials and identify students' academic requirements.
  • Maintain punctuality by adhering to scheduled tutoring hours.
  • Foster a supportive and conducive learning atmosphere that values respect and comfort.
  • Encourage engagement and participation through active learning strategies during tutoring sessions.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of laboratory facilities.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated course proficiency verified through academic transcripts and interviews conducted by committee members.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with adept interpersonal abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Capacity to establish rapport with students and employ appropriate tutoring techniques tailored to individual needs.

Advertised Salary $10.00 per hour

ADA Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
