Performs complex planning and programming activities in support of management-related programs and/or transportation projects. Work requires contact with departmental managers, high-level executives, governmental/university officials and/or private entities. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties:Analyzes departmental needs, changes and enhancements and makes recommendations.Assists with budget preparation; monitors and estimates future costs.Coordinates planning projects involving districts, divisions, various public transportation interests, research endeavors with universities, other agencies and/or local, state and federal agencies.may work with the MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organizations) to develop annual work program and long-range plans.May serve as project leader.Monitors and analyzes activities of assigned functional areas and provides information that may impact them.Oversees selected improvement planning projects.Performs complex planning and programming activities in support of management-related programs and/or transportation projects.Reviews and evaluates plans and related documents to ensure compliance with applicable state or federal requirements and conformance to acceptable professional standards.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
