Who We Are:

Hord Farms is a 5th generation family-owned agribusiness located in North-Central Ohio. We are currently looking to add experienced and enthusiastic maintenance technicians to our sow farm maintenance team. This position offers supportive training to help you tailor your skills to our facilities.  

A Day in the Life:

In this role, you'll be a problem-solver, joining a team that’s tackling electrical malfunctions, fan controllers, motors, well pumps, and high-pressure water washers – all things like this that are crucial to keep our farm running smoothly. You also get to showcase your welding skills and just overall help with general repairs and maintenance for our facilities.

Our maintenance technicians work 1st shift hours (flexibility on schedule can be accommodated)—generally 45 hours/week, Monday-Friday. 

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of applied maintenance experience, be experienced specifically in electrical repairs, have a valid driver's license and clean driving record, a high level of dependability as evidenced with a solid work history, and a proven record of drive for excellence.

  • Candidates must not currently own or have routine contact with non-Hord pigs.

  • Desire and capability to work in a physically strenuous environment

  • Commitment to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Impeccable record of reliability/dependability 

  • A high level of respect for team members and animals

  • Willingness to learn and carry out complex instructions effectively

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds; bend and twist easily; and push, pull, reach and grab freely
