Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Cost Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of accounting reports related to manufacturing processing. Along with budget, labor and production duties. This position has the responsibility to always comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety& Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for weekly operational reporting related to manufacturing processing at the Chaska facility. Generate labor reports. Assist with IA, A/P and other department functions. Responsible for material setup, of new or existing items. Monitor updates to existing products and materials as necessary. Responsible for maintaining and preparing standard cost estimates. Responsible for assisting in the month-end accounting including the completion of journal entries as assigned. Assist with the completion of annual budgets. Assist in the development of new reports as requested to support plant operations. Complete special projects or other duties as required. Adhere to practices that ensure SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance. Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Participation/lead in plant safety team. Always ensures regulatory compliance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting or finance. Exposure in Accounting or financial analysis preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated skills in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting and analysis Aptitude for effective and efficient utilization of computer technologies. Excel expertise and SAP knowledge are a plus, but not required.
