Role: Junior Accountant – Contract

Compensation: $28.62/hr

Duration: 6+ month Contract -potential to be extended

Hours: Monday – Friday The hours options are 8-4, 8:30 -4:30, or 9:00 to 5:00 with 2 15-minute breaks and a one-hour lunch

Location: Chicago / 60601 – close to the Daley center

Office attire: business professional required

Junior Accountant – We are looking for a finance, accounting, or business administration degree with experience as an auditor, accountant, or financial analyst.

What’s a typical day as a contract Junior Accountant? You’ll be:

  • Handle basic accounting entries

  • Learn and gain an understanding of government / non-profit accounting

  • Bank Reconciliation

  • Escheatment Process

  • Check imaging.

  • Check status – cashed vs outstanding.

  • Collection Warrant Process

  • Cash reconciliation and receipt and disbursements

  • Perform comprehensive accounting responsibilities for the office

  • Responsible for perform daily bank activities, revenue expenses, account analysis and reconciliations

  • Prepare and enter journal entries

  • Assist with financial reporting processes including closing analysis and reconciliations, bank reconciliations, fixed asset and grant reconciliations, financial statement preparation and analysis

  • Assist with annual ERP system closing, external audit and more

Requirements

Accountant V – We are looking for a finance, accounting, or business administration degree with experience as an auditor, accountant, or financial analyst.

  • Have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • Have 2+ years work experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis

  • Experience working with journal entries and reconciliations

  • Are comfortable with junior level positions

  • Experience with Oracle EBS or another ERP software

  • Comfortable commuting downtown working in a professional office environment

Our customer would be happy with an accountant right out of college with a little work experience. Great opportunity to gain experience
