Saft Batteries in Cockeysville, Maryland, is looking for Battery Assembly Technicians.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble cell pairs, modules, batteries, wire harnesses, and electrical control assemblies in accordance with approved design data to include procedures, drawings, and schematics.
• Assemble a variety of products ranging in volume from unique single piece demonstration units to highly repetitive hundred unit runs.
• Work closely with engineering to interpret customer requirement and develop robust processes to enable repeatable production.
• Perform rework on assembled components based on written and verbal direction.
• Complete build documentation records with high level precision and accuracy. Build documentation is both written and electronic.
• Perform Quality Assurance functions including: visual inspection, dimensional verification, and document review.
• Perform in-process testing of electronic assemblies, modules, and batteries.
• Ability to work on live assemblies and batteries.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Extreme focus and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with engineering to understand design intent to develop and perform assembly operations in accordance with that design intent.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate observation, challenges, and successes with production manager, engineering, and customer representatives.
• Extremely strong mechanical aptitude.
• Understanding of DC electrical circuits
• Ability to quickly and accurately read and understand mechanical assembly drawings and process specifications.
• Ability to operate various hand-tools, test equipment and numerous other manufacturing equipment.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.

Requirements

• HS Diploma
• 5 Years + Mechanical and Electrical Assembly Experience
• 2+ Years of higher level education preferred.
