Registered Nurse (RN) - Market House Supervisor & Float Pool Manager

Three 12-Hour Shifts (1 Danville SOVAH, 1 Martinsville SOVAH, 1 Office), Day Shift Variable, Occasional Nights

Position Summary:

• Position is responsible for both SOVAH Campuses (Danville & Martinsville), also referred to as "Market"
• Responsible for House Supervisors, Float Pools and sitter programs
• Responsible for providing leadership and directionin accordance withorganizational and departmental philosophy and goals
• Acts as the supervisor on duty to make management decisions, provide direction and supervision with operational issues for all hospital departments
• Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization for float pool and house supervision and other areas as assigned
• Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality controlobjectives
• Coordinates staffing/bed control meeting of Nursing Management tofacilitatepatient throughput and appropriate patientplacement
• Works with Director/Clinical Managers toensuredaily staffing needs are met for all nursing departments providingpatient care; oversight of staffing activities
• Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuingeducation initiatives
• Ensures that staff meet necessary educational, certification, and license requirements of their position
• Prepares,monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the departmentoperatesin compliancewithallocatedfunding
• Coordinates and directs internal/external audits
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Program in Professional Nursing
• Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State
• Minimum of five (5) years of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be abletowork in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action
• Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays
• Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), American Heart Association (AHA)
• Bachelor ofSciencestrongly degree, preferred
• Master’sdegree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration,preferred
• Three (3) years of leadership experience, preferred
