Position Description:

CGI Federal, Inc is seeking an results-driven AWS Site Reliability Engineer to join an existing engineering team focused on providing high availability uptime of financial systems applications and other services hosted in AWS GovCloud. Successful candidates will use automation tools and existing AWS services to monitor and analyze production systems in order to proactively address issues that would compromise the environment reliability during peak business hours.

Candidate will coordinate and collaborate both with their immediate account-based engineering team and with other account teams with similar project scope. Candidate will also have the backing of CGI Federal’s partnership with AWS Professional Services.

This position can be located at any CGI office in the U.S, preferred location is Fairfax, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Leverage existing tools and services to monitor production application and infrastructure within an AWS Environment to ensure compliance with High Availability SLAs.

• Effectively use metrics, logs, and traces to observe abnormal system behaviors so that issues can be resolved proactively.

• Establish processes and policies to embed reliability principles into the delivery pipeline through quality gates, automation, architectural decision making.

• Collaborate with other AWS DevOps Engineers to keep site reliability and stability as a primary focus of DevOps initiatives.

• Engage with production operations engineers and actively contribute to emergency incident response to minimize downtime during peak business hours.

• Work directly with federal customer’s engineering and operations teams to collaborate on and execute tasks.

• Work independently given objectives and priorities. Clearly document design and implementation decisions. Report status to leadership

• Proactively communicate and collaborate on team huddles, status calls, and troubleshooting sessions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

AWS Management and Government services, Past experience in supporting highly available applications hosted in AWS, AWS Cloud Administration, Terraform, Ansible, Amazon Machine Images (AMI), EC2 scripting, Lambda functions

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

AWS Secrets Manager, AWS Certificates Manager, JBoss, Apache HTTPS, AWS Security Hub, Crowdstrike, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat OpenShift or other Kubernetes platforms

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800.00 - $209,100.00.
