Pre-Production Material Control Coordinator at Nissan Automotive

Long term contract with benefits!

We are seeking a Pre-Production Material Control Coordinator at our Nissan Technical Center in Farmington Hills, MI.

The coordinator will ensure all assigned Test Part Orders are on time for new design change parts and current production parts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtain and analyze supplier timelines

  • Meet/ Discuss with Customer validation of Start of Test date submission

  • Manage / Lead resolution meetings

  • Ensure customer is informed and ensure teamwork for problem resolution

Job Functions:

  • Tracks design release document status and resolves issues with limited supervision

  • Tracks prototype parts status daily and resolves issues with limited supervision for vehicle and test requirements, such as:

  • Follows up on the Request For Quote to ensure cost and timing are received on time

  • Confirms deliveries weekly to ensure on time deliveries

  • Resolves release issues

  • Ensures timing is meeting MRD (Material Required date), SOT (Start of Test) and SOA (Start of Assembly)

  • Tries to compress initial late timing, etc.

  • Inputs applicable information from suppliers and into mainframe system

  • Investigates routine and non-routine problems

  • Attend weekly department & supplier / project meetings occasionally

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in parts/material control

  • Assertive and Pro-Active demeanor

  • High problem-solving skills

  • Negotiation skills
