Aerotek Machine Operator in Fridley, Minnesota

NOW HIRING MACHINE OPERATORS

1st or 2nd Shift

$20+/hr

Performance-Based Pay Raises

Hours :

  • 5am-3:30pm M-Th (1st Shift)

  • 3:30pm-2am M-Th (2nd Shift)

  • Will be put on machines almost immediately running basic jobs to start to learn machine functions.

  • If contractor is doing well, there is typically a $1.00 raise at each review, but this is not guaranteed.

Job Description :

  • Will be put on machines almost immediately running basic jobs to start to learn machine functions.

  • Operates a variety of punch press equipment to produce metal parts that meet print specifications. May include basic machine set-up

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities with an emphasis on safety.

  • With close supervision, operates most types of punch press equipment, including coil or sheet fed presses and drill presses, by feeding and controlling their operation.

  • Receives and works from work orders and prints for each job, using shop calculations/math if necessary, to ensure proper types, quantities and quality of each part are produced.

  • Uses a variety of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform part inspections before and during each production run.

  • Completes all shop traveler and timekeeping documentation as required for each job.

  • Continuous learning with regard to machine operation in order to gain skills and proficiency to operate more complicated machines on more difficult work, including machine setup.

  • Maintains regular and timely attendance.

  • The owner gets to know everyone, their names, families, backgrounds and what they like to do.

  • It is a very diverse team environment with a lot of opportunities for growth.

  • They have added a lot of new high-end equipment and are continuing to add more.

  • They have a training program on site where a Dunwoody instructor comes in every week and teaches associates on the programming and setup of all of the equipment on the floor.

  • It is a 4-year apprenticeship program that they put people through if they want to become a journeyman sheet metal worker.

Benefits:

  • Along with benefits attached, provides contractors a $300 pair of steel toed boots after the contracting period ends or if the contractor is showing the correct workmanship that warrants the strong possibility of being hired on permanent while on contract.

  • They will enroll employees into their apprenticeship program and also give individuals the opportunity to go to school and get 2 year degrees which is fully reimbursed by the company.
