Job Title: Automotive Manufacturer MRO and Direct Material Buyer

Location: Gallatin, TN

Overview: We are looking for a motivated and experienced MRO and Direct Material Buyer to join our team at an automotive manufacturing facility. The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies, as well as direct materials required for production. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, supply chain expertise, and a deep understanding of the automotive manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for MRO supplies and direct materials, in line with the company's budget and quality standards

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure cost-effective and high-quality materials and services

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including maintenance, production, engineering, and finance teams, to understand requirements and align procurement activities

• Manage supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and address any issues or discrepancies to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards are met

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess industry trends, and make strategic sourcing decisions

• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier information in the procurement system

• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels for MRO supplies and direct materials to support production requirements

• Identify cost-saving opportunities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and implement best practices in procurement processes

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities

• Support cross-functional teams in evaluating new products, implementing product changes, and resolving technical issues related to MRO and direct materials

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; CSCP or CPIM certification is a plus

• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, and vendor management within the automotive manufacturing industry, with a focus on MRO and direct materials purchasing

• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure competitive pricing, terms, and quality standards with suppliers

• Proficiency in procurement systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications
