Position Summary

The State University of New York at Geneseo Office of Admissions is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented, equity-minded individual who has a demonstrated commitment to the values of a liberal arts education for a temporary Recruitment Specialist position.

Responsibilities for this position include actively recruiting and counseling prospective EOP (including financial review) and BIPOC students. Activities include, but are not limited to: effective correspondence with prospective students and other constituents including written and verbal communication through territory management, interviewing, and group presentations; substantial travel including high school visits, college fairs, and regional presentations; event planning; application assessment; representing the College and department at on and off-campus events; leading on-campus special group visits and partner with New York State CBO’s, and assisting with various projects in the office.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree by time of appointment

  • Demonstrated previous experience in higher education

  • Must demonstrate commitment and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents supporting campus and department missions.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.

  • Correspondence with prospective EOP and BIPOC students and other constituents including written and verbal communication. Answer questions about the process for applying, documents needed to complete the application process and to discuss the benefits of EOP . Contact applicants via phone, email, and host virtual meetings.
