911 Crisis Call Diversion Clinician

We are seeking* a 911 Crisis Call Diversion Clinician. * This role is embedded in the Kent County 911 dispatch center to respond to behavioral health crisis calls over the phone and resolve issues through crisis counseling or referral to services within the Network180 crisis continuum of care. The aim is to divert some 911 calls to non-law enforcement responders such as mobile crisis response teams, local call centers, and the national mental health crisis and suicide prevention number (988) who can best address mental health and substance use needs to alleviate demands on law enforcement, fire, medical and/or other emergency personnel and equipment.

This position will aid in developing protocols for transferring 911 calls to 988 for telephone support and referral for services. This position will assist in the development of workflows and programmatic implementation of this model in partnership with Network180 Leadership, 988/Access Line Representatives, the Kent County Sherrif's Office, 911 Dispatch Operators, and other community stakeholders.

*This position is full-time, 40 hours a week, and could work either 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts OR 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts. The work schedule hours depend on the candidate's availability. There are no current weekend or holiday expectations for this role. The role is in person at  *703 Ball Ave NE, Grand Rapids, Mi 49503{target="_blank" rel="noopener"}.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: *

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.

Limited or full licensure in the State of Michigan as a licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychologist; OR be eligible for a limited license as stated above and obtain that licensure within three (3) months of hire. 

Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis.

Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice.

Demonstrated proficiency in multitasking; defined by speaking on the phone, utilizing multiple computer application
