Robert Half MES Engineer in Greer, South Carolina

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Software Developer in Greer, South Carolina. In this role, you will be at the forefront of deploying and supporting projects on our MES Team, specifically around the Ignition and Visual Factory platforms. You will work collaboratively with various departments to guide them through solutions and deliver successful projects and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement, and optimize MES solutions using Inductive Ignition for our manufacturing processes.

• Lead MES data process automation, design, process improvement, and project management initiatives.

• Work closely with manufacturing operations and quality groups to align MES solutions with business needs.

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to ensure effective translation of business needs into MES solutions.

• Implement and support Industry 4.0 concepts, IIOT, and MQTT protocols for enhanced data collection and analysis.

• Utilize Agile project management methodologies for efficient project execution.

• Engage in custom software development, integrating databases, and working with data historians and OEE’s.

• Collaborate closely with the MES/OT Development Lead and other site leadership team members.

• Leverage skills in PLC Programming, Python, and Microsoft SQL to execute tasks and projects efficiently.

• Drive to successful completion of complex projects. Requirements • Must possess strong skills in PLC Programming, Python, and Microsoft SQL

• Demonstrable experience in software development

• Proficiency in developing and implementing software solutions

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously

• Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business

• Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Strong understanding of the software development cycle

• Previous experience in a software development role is desirable

• Proficiency in using various software development tools

• Proven ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven work environment
