COMPANY: Hamel Co-op Grain Company HIRING MANAGER: Amy Rogier LOCATION: Hamel, IL Hamel Co-op Grain Company is looking for someone to fill a General Operations Laborer position. It is a full time position with benefits. Will consider part time candidates if they meet the proper qualifications. Must have a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement for full time position. The purpose for this position is to assist in daily operational duties at the facility. _ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS_ • Responsible for maintaining operations at retail supply location. • Follows maintenance schedule of facility and equipment. • Responsible for inventory and distribution of products. • Drives and delivers products to company standards and to increase potential sales. Communicates sales leads to supervisor. • Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures. • Under appropriate supervision, applies crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all product labels. Records application data according to regulations and standards. • Responsible for the inventory control and turns in application records on a daily basis. Assures all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket. • Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products. Maintains, repairs, and rebuilds equipment as needed. • Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement • Stocks and moves warehouse product and material. • Assists both full-time and part-time operations personnel. • Maintains the facility and equipment image. • Assists in obtaining goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs. • Provides excellent customer service. • Works with location manager on all safety and compliance issues. _ * OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS_ • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. • Required to drive and run local errands as needed. • Performs all other duties as assigned. _ *REQUIREMENTS_ • Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 1 or more years of retail related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of basic business principals of inventory management and mechanics. • Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification and Commercial Driver’s License within first 3 months of employment. • Must work well with others. • Must be able to multi-task. • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. • Frequently required to lift 51-70 lbs as needed. • Frequently required to work in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) • Frequently exposed to working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures • Will be required to work hours other than those considered “normal” to meet seasonal demands. • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
