Metal Source LLC Shipping and Receiving in Huntington, Indiana

POSITION SUMMARY:Receive material, prep for production and shipping, and ship materials.This position is a 12 hour rotating shift, with a schedule of work 3, off 2, work 2 and off 3. Hours are 7am to 7pm.

REPORTS TO: Shipping and Receiving Manager

SUPERVISES:N/A

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loading and unloading materials
  • Identifying materials for production and sorting accordingly
  • Accurate recording of materials
  • Moving semi-trailers and roll off boxes
  • Banding materials
  • Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position.
  • Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma preferred but not required.
  • Good work record and practices

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to properly drive and utilize a forklift.
  • Ability to perform all physical labor tasks.
  • Self-starter that takes initiative along with analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs.
  • Exposure to weather conditions that may include extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions, and loud noises
  • Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to operate machinery and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned including to making general observations of the facility.
