At the BASF Huntsville Site, we make the chemistry and technology used in vehicle catalytic converters and other environmental products. As part of our team, employees help us conceive, design, implement and validate new equipment, technologies, and processes to help make our world's environment cleaner.Our Maintenance Department plays a vital role in the success of our plant. This position contributes by setting up critical spare parts and contributing to the maintenance planning process for work execution.

As aMaintenance Materials Coordinator & Planner you will LEAD by……….

  • Establishing new equipment and spare parts, works to establish BOMs and TMATs associated equipment spares for mechanical and electrical repairs within CMMS.

  • Working with groups within the maintenance department to set spare parts min/max quantities.

  • Working with OEMs to get proper documentation for future equipment needs, services and preventive maintenance requirements.

  • Working with E&M Capital group for new equipment set-up within stores to support equipment maintainability.

  • Creating purchase requisitions for equipment identified for equipment maintenance and services.

  • Working within SAP to set up equipment BOMs and equipment specifications attached to equipment functional locations.

  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating work for the weekly schedule outages and shutdowns around developing detailed job plans.

  • Performing field checks for maintenance activities and plans the work prioritizing job safety, environmental, and cost efficiency.

  • Creating job plans for routine and repetitive maintenance work assignments.

  • Updating preventive maintenance plans when required.

  • Procuring maintenance goods and materials including initiating requisitions, tracking purchase orders, and goods receipts using computerized systems.

  • Examining material received (QC checks), verifies OEM part numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.

  • Designating materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

  • Filling PR requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.

  • Participating in storeroom material inventory cycle counts and supports storeroom readiness for internal and external audits.

  • Supporting site annual outages and maintenance on call responsibilities required for 24/7 operational activities.

  • Interacting closely for the Planning portion with the Maintenance Gatekeeper, Scheduler, Maintenance Supervisors, Engineers, Projects, maintenance technicians and both internal (embedded) and external contractors for the purpose of planning equipment repairs and installations. The job scope also requires some field troubleshooting to determine proper usage of site resources.

  • Interacting closely for the Materials Coordination portion with the Maintenance Engineers, Project Engineers, storeroom personnel, OEMs and vendors to properly identify, categorize, document stock and recommend reorder points of critical spare parts for the 24/7 manufacturing process maintained by the Engineering and Maintenance group.

  • Executing on other duties as applicable.

Your elements for success……

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Basic computer skills with proficient use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Experience with SAP (Maintenance Module) preferred.

  • Experience with SAP S4/Hana or R3/Cobalt operating system preferred.

  • Computer CMMS experience a plus.

  • Understand machines of medium to high complexity to successfully plan detailed job packages for maintenance technicians preferred.

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude regarding equipment maintainability preferred.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multi-task assignments.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations while performing tasks which may require multiple steps.

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
