Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is looking for Thin-Film Process Technicians to join our team in Kent, WA .
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining vacuum deposition equipment to deposit thin films onto various substrates.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Mid-Level and Senior Level Thin-Film Process Technician.
Position Responsibilities:
Set up and operate vacuum deposition equipment, including loading and unloading substrates, installing/removing chamber tooling fixtures and vacuum deposition components (e.g. pumps, mass flow controllers, pressure gauges, etc.)
Prepare substrates for deposition by cleaning and pre-treating them according to established procedures
Monitor and control deposition processes to ensure consistent and high-quality film deposition
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of vacuum deposition equipment to ensure optimal performance
Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and optimize deposition processes for specific applications
Perform routine inspections and measurements to verify film thickness, uniformity, and adhesion
Maintain accurate records of process parameters, equipment maintenance, and inspection results
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in vacuum deposition techniques
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance/SCI Post-Start is required.
This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications
Experience with measurements and test equipment
Experience troubleshooting and repairing machinery and/or equipment
Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive
Willing to work in a Lab environment with mechanical tools and equipment
Experience in a role that required interpersonal skills in a teaming environment where collaboration and communication are critical to the functioning of the team
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Willing to work 1st or 2nd shift on a rotational basis, as needed
Able to travel 10% of the time
(Level 3) 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
(Level 4) 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

(Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
(Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
(Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (Associate, Level 2): 56,950 – 77,050
Summary pay range (Mid-Level, Level 3): 68,000 – 92,000
Summary pay range (Senior, Level 4): 80,750 – 109,250
