Diesel Technology Substitute Instructor

Location: Lehi , UT

Status: Part-time, as needed.

Hours: (Days) Monday - Friday, (Times) 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.

Pay / Hourly: $28.30

SUMMARY

As a Diesel Technology Substitute Instructor, you will provide instruction to students preparing to become diesel technicians when their regular instructor is absent. Your focus will be on helping students develop the skills they need to be job ready.     RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take necessary precautions to ensure an effective and safe level of direct supervision of students in the labs and classrooms.

  • Effectively prepare students as Diesel Technicians.

  • Ensure students achieve educational objectives and are evaluated appropriately according to knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Assess student progress toward meeting graduation requirements.

  • Model and teach good work habits and professional conduct.

  • Assist students in the use, care, and safety of program equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in Diesel Mechanics, Auto Technician, or a related field, AND three years of industry experience OR a combination of education and work experience in the Diesel Technician field totaling six years.

  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and current developments in the diesel technician field.

  • Knowledge of subject matter and course content taught including brakes, engine rebuilding, electrical, AC, cooling and exhaust, fuel systems, etc.
