Job Purpose/Overview

The Manager, Commercial Analytics, is a leader on the Sales Operations team responsible for facilitating informed and timely decision-making for Senior Management and the Sales organization. This role will be essential to executing a vision to make data readily available, provide enhanced insights, create new and streamline existing processes, and lead the team responsible for delivering these business-critical insights. Success in this role requires the ability to consult about the information needs of the organization, the ability to turn that information into insights through output reporting in PowerBI and other advanced analytics software. This role requires an architect mindset and ability – consult, design and ensure accurate construction of reports in advanced analytics software – and is more than an expert at Excel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead a team of 3 Commercial Analysts. The team is jointly responsible for generating reports, providing actionable insights, managing data, and optimizing processes. In this role, the Commercial Analytics Manager will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting such as periodic sales commissions and will work with the Sales Operations leadership team to expand the capabilities of the Commercial Analyst team. The Commercial Analytics Manager understands and can lead the work of the Commercial Analysts to enhance efficiencies by designing and creating output reporting processes that will allow for a higher level of self-service reporting for Sales Leaders.

  • Reporting & Commissions :

  • Will need to contribute to and build reporting and analytics, especially when starting in role and developing the Commercial Analyst Team.

  • Manage a team of analysts ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate reports and commission statements.

  • Develop new ways to deliver reports to improve the overall end user experience.

  • Establish and manage a set of Service Level Agreements for delivering reporting.

  • Monitor report inventory and adapt the list by adding new or decommissioning unused reports.

  • Ensure the team is cross-trained to provide coverage for time sensitive tasks.

  • Create (architect for) the automation of reporting and periodic analytic output through PowerBI (and other programs).

  • Insights and Analysis :

  • Partner with the Director of Sales Strategy & Analytics and other stakeholders both within the Sales Operations team and with other functions to understand how the sales team is performing.

  • Create tools to respond to questions, anticipate future questions and proactively offer insights to the senior management team.

  • Gain an understanding of the industry, products & services, internal processes and business needs to provide insights that help drive revenue growth and process improvement.

  • Develop new metrics to evaluate past and predict future business performance.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for key areas including revenue, pricing, and contract data.

  • Conduct and direct responses to ad hoc requests for reporting and analysis as needed.

To be successful in providing the deliverables above, the Manager will need to efficiently manage data and streamline processes.

  • Data Management :

  • Assume ownership of managing data sources required for reporting and insights, including data collection, accuracy, and reliability.

  • Ensure the team is performing the relevant tasks to maintain data availability & integrity.

  • Ensure data is organized and information about the data is documented so others can utilize the information.

  • Anticipate future business needs by identifying and collecting new data from internal and external sources.

  • Ensure that existing data is formatted appropriately to facilitate timely responses for ad hoc requests.

  • Work with the Sales Operations management team and other functions to manage data governance policies.

  • Process Efficiency

  • Utilize a total quality management approach to drive continuous improvement ensuring an optimal experience for our internal clients.

  • Automate data collection, preparation, and report generation to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

  • Develop efficiencies in reporting processes, utilizing tools such as VBA, Power Automate, Power BI, alongside process changes and robust data management practices, to ensure the delivery of high-quality reports in a timely manner.

  • Additional Duties

  • Ensure the team is trained on new technical skills.

  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders are educated on reports and insights.

  • Ensure all processes and reference materials are well documented and archived.

  • Support reporting and commission escalations.

  • Support annual budgeting processes.

  • Communicate and work with teams across multiple departments to achieve common goals.

  • Provide backup support for the analysts on the team.

  • Collaborate with other functional teams to enhance reporting & insights.

  • Support questions from sales team, sales management on reports and incentives.

  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

  • Collaborate within the Sales Operations team and across other functions to fully understand the products, processes, systems to support report development and insights.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field.

  • 6-8 years’ experience as a Financial or Sales (Commercial) Analyst, or related analytical position including:

  • Experience developing and maintaining reporting catalogues and delivering on LSAs.

  • Experience creating reports in Power BI.

  • Experience automating reports and process using VBA.

  • Experience with budgeting and budgeting process.

  • Experience providing analysis & looking for the hidden meaning in data.

  • 3+ years as a manager of analysts.

  • Experience building reporting from scratch to meet client needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Understanding of best practices for data collection and output.

  • High level of expertise with Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and VBA.

  • Proficiency in Power Automate and SQL.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.

  • Understanding of Sales terms and the sales cycle.

  • Demonstrated agility as a nimble learner.

  • Ability to gain understanding of client needs and pain points and create meaningful solutions and insights.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Travel

10% with peaks and valleys throughout the year.

The Target Base Pay Range for this position is $90,000 - $122,500 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
