Principal Associate, Program Manager, Brand Governance

The Enterprise Talent Governance Team within Capital One’s Brand team is responsible for facilitating well-managed selection and use of external paid talent to represent the company. Across the enterprise, we work with a large range of high profile talent to deliver world-class marketing, communications and event programming. We take the selection of these partners – think spokespeople, content creators, influencers, entertainers and compelling thought-leaders at Capital One sponsored events – seriously. The Principal Associate Program Manager position will manage the full process and strategically advance the vibrant, high-profile governance program that serves teams across the enterprise as they make talent selections.

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end high-volume, centralized, enterprise wide Talent governance process in service of talent risk management for all Capital One LOBs and geographies

  • Lead day-to-day relationship with paid talent vetting agency partners, ensuring all program deliverables are on track and well-documented in line with documentation standards

  • Look for strategic opportunities to enhance program effectiveness by proactively identifying solutions that continuously improve our talent selection and management process

  • Triage inbound requests, applying excellent judgment, to ensure requests align with business objectives and sound strategies before moving forward, escalating for leadership decisioning when needed

  • Lead first-level review of all returning information from our talent vetting agency partner, applying judgment to determine which talent should move to elevated leadership review

  • Monitor and communicate professionally around critical path escalations, ensuring decisions are documented to comply with an auditable Talent Standard

  • Own management of program intake form, program email and program intranet page, ensuring all program documentation is current/continuously improved upon

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact to all inbound user teams in the US and Internationally

  • Lead agenda for weekly, program-level core team meeting

  • Develop program-level communications to stakeholders (Intent Owners, AEs, Core Team, Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM), Brand Agency Relations (BAR), Other Program Participants

  • Support project to enhance the program’s efficiency and scale through monitorable enterprise workflow management solution (Workfront)

  • Perform monitoring and partner with other teams to leverage robust talent program data to report on success of the program and benchmark talent performance

  • Support evidence-based storytelling and socialization of the program, driving awareness of its value among stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 3 years of Project Management Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience with project management software or tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Project Management experience

  • 1 years managing projects for in-house creative, marketing, or agency teams

  • Experience with Workfront

  • Proficiency in Google Suite

  • Ability to self-manage and escalate potential roadblocks with confidence

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience in resource and task management with the ability to explore solution-oriented approaches based on project-specific needs

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $118,700 - $135,400 for Principal Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
