Robert Half BI Developer in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Robert Half is seeking a skilled and results-oriented BI Developer to join our growing team! In this role, you'll be a data rockstar, transforming raw data into actionable insights using Microsoft's Power BI platform. You'll partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs, design and develop interactive dashboards and reports, and empower data-driven decision making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Data Acquisition and Transformation:

  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to access and understand data sources (relational databases, cloud storage, etc.).

  • Clean, transform, and prepare data for analysis using Power Query and other ETL tools.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality for reliable reporting.

Data Modeling and Visualization:

  • Design and develop effective data models in Power BI Desktop to optimize performance and facilitate data exploration.

  • Create compelling and user-friendly dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI features (charts, graphs, slicers, etc.).

  • Ensure visualizations are clear, informative, and tailored to address specific business questions.

Security and Governance:

  • Implement row-level security and other security measures to restrict data access based on user roles and permissions.

  • Adhere to data governance best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.

Deployment and Maintenance:

  • Publish reports and dashboards to the Power BI Service for secure sharing and collaboration across the organization.

  • Monitor report performance and user engagement.

  • Maintain and update existing reports as needed based on evolving business requirements.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Partner effectively with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable insights.

  • Clearly communicate data findings and insights through presentations and documentation.

  • Collaborate with IT teams on data infrastructure and access management.

Staying Current:

  • Maintain expertise in Power BI and stay up-to-date with the latest features and functionalities.

  • Continuously learn and explore new data analysis techniques and best practices.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, or a related field (preferred).

  • 2-3 years of experience developing reports and visualizations using Power BI.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and relational databases.

  • Proficiency in SQL querying is a plus.

  • Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., Power Query) is beneficial.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

  • Analytical mindset with a passion for transforming data into valuable insights.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
