Labcorp Medical Technologist - Floater (Evenings) in Metairie, Louisiana

If so, LabCorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our team as a Medical Technologist in New Orleans, LA, working within a hospital network and rotating between 3 locations. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: “Improving Health, Improving Lives”.
The work schedule for this position is: 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm Monday - Friday with rotating weekends and holidays (when floating will work Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays)
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
Communicate effectively with client office staff
Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
Meet department activity and production goals
Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Accurately identify and label specimens
Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Lab Science, Clinical Lab Science, or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of previous clinical lab experience is required
LA State CLS (LSBME) license is required
ASCP or AMT certification is required
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
