Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Miami, Florida

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in the Higher Education industry, based in Miami, Florida. The role involves functioning as an Accounting Clerk, primarily focusing on maintaining and processing financial records in a methodical and precise manner.

Responsibilities include:

• Utilizing bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and software to maintain accurate financial records.

• Posting financial transactions using the appropriate computer software.

• Ensuring the accurate receipt and recording of vouchers, cash, and checks.

• Accurately entering debits and credits into software applications and databases.

• Generating a variety of reports such as income statements and balance sheets.

• Checking reports, figures, and postings for accuracy.

• Reconciling any discrepancies found in the records and reporting these discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Performing Bank Reconciliations and managing Accruals.

• Handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) and ensuring Code Invoices are accurately recorded.

• Efficiently managing Data Entry and Journal Entries. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in performing Accruals

• Proven knowledge and experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to Code Invoices accurately and promptly

• Skilled in Data Entry with a high level of accuracy

• Experience in preparing Journal Entries

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

• Experience in a higher education environment is a plus

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Commitment to ethical and confidential handling of financial data.
