Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist

Direct-Hire / Permanent position

*This position will be fully on-site 5 days per week in the office in the Waterbury/Middlebury area.

Robert Half has partnered with a non-profit healthcare organization in their search of an Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist to join their accounting department. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist will handle all AP for the organization, as well as bi-weekly payroll through ADP. Ideal candidates will have either an AS or BS in Accounting, and 2+ years of AP and general accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

• Process and post approved invoices daily to the AP system

• Prepare check and ACH run on a weekly basis and arrange for mailing of checks to vendors

• Enter credit memos/debit memos/void checks as required prior to month-end

• Reconciliation of Accounts Payable reports to General Ledger prior to month-end

• Follow-up on vendor purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies

• Process payroll bi-weekly for 250 employees through ADP

• Prepare and reconcile reports for all payroll deductions

• Carry out quarterly analysis and reconciliation of payroll data to Form 941 to general ledger

Desired Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred

• AS Degree in Accounting at a minimum

• 2+ years of experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role.

• Accounting or ERP software experience
