JOB REQUIREMENTS: Discover. Achieve. Succeed. #BeHere Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our CP-FOREST HOME HEALTH CENTER facility. This job is ON - SITE. FTE: 0.850000 Shift : 1st Shift Mondays and Wednesdays-8 am-4:30 pm/Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am-5:00pm/Fridays 1pm-5pm. Position coverage for Forest Home Health Center and FH. Job Summary: To facilitate culturally and linguistically competent communication between individuals with Limited English Proficiency(LEP) and medical providers in a manner that promotes patient safety and confidentiality. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year of experience in providing medical interpreting in English and the target language is required.A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience. Experience at a Level I Trauma Center. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is required.Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in related field is preferred. Professional Medical Interpreter Program. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Must be bilingual in English and language to be interpreted, solid knowledge of medical terminology and competence in communicating the meaning of terms. Strong ability to interpret diagnostic processes, treatments, procedures, preventive care, and be culturally competent. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, their families and health care providers. Ability to perform under stressful situations and medical emergencies. Ability to produce written translation of material, such as: various forms, documents, patient letters and other material. Formal interpreter training preferred. 40 hour medical interpretation training program.
