Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

Acts as a strategic business partner for division finances with a focus on business growth. Develops, analyzes, and conducts complex financial budgets and analyses to assess the viability of strategic and financial plans and programs. Gathers appropriate inputs from business counterparts to inform budgets and financial analyses. Integrates financial principles, theories, and concepts to develop reports to facilitate decision making for excellent business management. Analyzes and reviews financial data, prepares financial statements and reports requiring advanced application and use of concepts, theories, principles, practices, regulations, and terminology of accounting, independently. Applies applicable regulations, policies and procedures. Manages end-to-end financials for the division, including revenue reconciliation and expense management (strategic and tactical).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops projections to model the financial impact of programs and projects.

  • Prepares growth-oriented budgets, gathering inputs from various stakeholder groups, and facilitates submission into relevant systems (Workday).

  • Designs, develops, and modifies financial forecasting models and simulations for programs. Accumulates and analyzes data from existing or established databases.

  • Exudes ownership and proactive management of budget (revenue and expenditures); familiar with the details of the budget.

  • Leads evaluation and recommendation of improvements in accounting system procedures to ensure accurate application of accounting principles.

  • Defines, analyzes and coordinates the input of financial information into the general ledger system. Evaluates, approves and provides accounting expertise.

  • Ensure appropriate revenue reconciliation and expenditure processing. Manages day to day operations of finance. Completes complex reconciliations of unique data requiring knowledge and understanding of multiple transactions sources.

  • Communicates proactively and professionally with internal stakeholders (e.g., Faculty, Operational Leaders) and external partners / clients.

  • Reviews, formats, and prepares highly technical, complex, non-routine financial reports and schedules. Prepares projections for future periods. Presents regular financial, statistical, and operational reports.

  • Schedules and facilitates meetings with business counterparts to make informed business decisions based on financials.

  • Facilitates pricing analysis to develop pricing estimates for client contracts; utilizes consistent process for approval, documentation, and lessons learned from the market.

  • Analyzes future trends and indicators in related areas of interest. Reviews data to analyze trends affecting budget needs.

  • Coordinates complex regulatory audit. Develops and presents recommendations regarding future corrective actions needed to facilitate compliance.

  • Accounting Reporting (Expert): Knowledge of the general financial accounting practices and principles. Able to analyze and interpret financial statements as well as develop reports and present them in a comprehensive and intelligent manner.

QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERENCES

  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Masters is preferred)

  • (Preferred): CPA

  • Willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
