Job Summary: 

The Shipping Associate verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

Job Components:

Major Responsibilities         

                                                                                               

  • Accurate shipping of various tactical gear to support quick turnaround of items ordered.

  • Process small parcels in a highly efficient manner.

  • Maintain records on outgoing shipments.

  • Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped.

  • Stack and wrap pallets.

  • Clean and dress boxes.

  • Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates, and routes

  • Process orders based on preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)

  • Review freight costs and transportation rates to keep costs down where possible.

  • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs.

  • Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed.

  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies

    Qualifications:

    Educational Requirements:

    High school diploma/GED

    Previous Experience:

    2 years’ experience with general warehouse shipping with knowledge of Business Central, UPS Wordship, International Shipping, courier codes, and AES Filing, preferred.

    Competencies and Skills:

     

  • Customer service.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to details.

  • Computer literate, skills including familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Business Central and data entry.

  • Ability to follow established company procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
