The Global Securitized Products Data team is responsible for researching and supporting a $12 trillion global securitized product market. The securitized product market uses financial engineering to transform a variety of assets (residential and commercial mortgages, auto and equipment leases, managed corporate loan portfolios, credit card debt, and even music royalties) into securities that are structured to meet nearly any investor appetite. Our team supports the full data lifecycle and analytical capabilities, through reverse financial engineering, of all securitized products globally for Bloomberg.

This specific team, the Securitized Product Cross Asset Sector team, focuses on process and product improvements through technical innovations, data modeling, and data management that go across the various securitized products asset sectors as well as across other Bloomberg yellow keys. They work very closely with all of our other Securitized Products teams as well as our Engineering, Data Transformation, and Data Management Labs teams. They are also responsible for growing and developing technical data management expertise across the securitized products data teams globally.

What’s the Role?

As the Cross Asset Sector Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Data Engineers and Data Management professionals who are creating and improving ETL processes, coding, and maintaining workflow configurations, designing, and governing metadata/data models in a FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable & reusable) manner across the Securitized Products Data Teams and in-line with Bloomberg Data as a whole. You are also expected to set clear goals for your team that are aligned with the Securitized Product Data team’s overall vision and install a culture that proactively champions inclusive behaviors.

We'll trust you to:

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a hardworking team of technical Data Management professionals, who understand our client needs and focus on constant process and product innovations

  • Liaise and collaborate with fellow team leaders in Securitized Products, Engineering, and Data Management teams from other products across Bloomberg Data

  • Understand our internal and external client needs, and develop an actionable data strategy that aligns with the Securitized Product Data and overall Bloomberg Data team’s vision

  • Maintain and optimize existing ETL workflows and processes, and drive best practices in metadata/data model management

You'll need to have:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of relevant leadership experience or strong relevant experience as an individual contributor, and relevant domain knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics, a quantitative Social Science, Finance, STEM, or related business field

  • Demonstrable experience in data engineering and/or data modeling

  • Proven ability to grow technical talent and collaborate closely with Engineering teams

  • Demonstrable experience with coding and data analysis languages (Python, SQL, etc)

  • Broad understanding of Fixed Income markets, preferably Securitized Products

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects

  • Proven ability to establish strong credibility and build influential relationships with multiple partners

We'd love to see:

  • Demonstrated Securitized Product knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of statistics to model and measure data quality of large interconnected datasets

Salary Range: 135,000 - 180,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
