Stanley Black and Decker Assistant Controller in Reynosa, Mexico

  • Contribute and implement continuous process improvement, including simplifying and optimizing process, improving data integrity, and leveraging current technology.

  • Document all process to define a standard manual for key activities.

  • Oversee of daily activities and support the Plant Controller with Fixed Assets, Cost, Accounting, AP, VAT recovery, Taxes and FP&A.

  • Assure balance sheet account reconciliations be timely prepared with the necessary support evidence to ensure the numbers are accurately represented. Recommend and implement corrective actions required to improve gaps.

  • Identify internal controls risk and design and implement process and control to mitigate those risks to ensure the business maintains robust control environment and compliance with financial regulations and policies.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting filings (international entities) and various tax filings (domestic and international entities).

  • Assist with monthly close of entities, including Maquila billing, journal entries and account trend analysis.

  • Supervise the whole fixed asset process by maintaining a complete fixed asset register up to date with all the proper documental support, ensuring timely capitalization of assets while having excellent control of CIP account with no aged balances. Lead the fixed asset inventory planning and taking in accordance with policy assuring all assets are tagged and clearly identified. Leading

  • Provide support to FP&A in the preparation of annual budget plan and monthly rolling forecast budgeting process to be able to analyze and interpret plant performance by evaluating variances and assessing the effects on plant results.

  • Identify team training needs while providing continuous coaching for skills enhancement, performance measurement and feedback.

  • Support other ad hoc projects as assigned.

  • Serving as project manager on cost reduction initiatives, working cross functionally with engineers, Procurement, and plant operators to drive cost reductions

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as Assistant Plant Controller or Plant Controller Jr., preferably in a large international manufacturing site.

  • Experience as manager of people

  • General Competences:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to work well with all associates.

  • Technical Competences:

  • Fluent communication in English, both written and verbal.

  • Wide experience in SAP.

  • Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) experience preferable.

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint applications required.
