The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Riverview

· AdventHealth is expanding our medical expertise, innovation, and state-of-the-art technology to southern Hillsborough County through a brand-new hospital in Riverview, which is scheduled to open in 2024.

· The new AdventHealth Riverview hospital will include 82 beds at time of opening with space to expand to 202 beds in the future.

· This $250 million project in Riverview also includes a 100,000 square foot, four-story Medical Office Building that will provide community members convenient access to expert care.

· AdventHealth Riverview will offer a wide range of health care services which includes emergency, cardiovascular, digestive, urology, orthopedic and women’s care.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Lactation Consultant enhances the breastfeeding experience of the Mother/Baby dyad through education of the patient and staff, giving direct patient assistance, and assessing and managing breastfeeding problems. The Lactation Consultant also determines the need for breastfeeding devices and aids, distributing them and educating in their use.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Assesses and evaluates breastfeeding effectiveness of Mother/Baby dyads while valuing Family Centered Care concepts and reflecting them in interaction with others.

· Documents effectively in a timely manner, allowing for continuity of care with co-workers.

· Functions effectively with fluctuating patient censes, can prioritize and manage day to day work.

· Provides breastfeeding plan for discharge.

· Using extensive breastfeeding knowledge, advises and recommends standards of care regarding management of breastfeeding problems.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

· 2 years in Maternal/Child nursing role including breastfeeding support

· IBLC Examiners License within 1 year of employment
