Description:

Valero is looking for an Associate Accounting Coordinator to join the Finished Product Accounting team at the Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. Under direct supervision, this position ensures the timely and accurate processing and reporting of refined product purchase and sale transactions for international refineries and terminals. This role monitors customer accounts receivable and vendor accounts payable for accuracy, timely processing, and clearing of transactions. This position:

• Processes international transactions to completion in SAP, including obtaining appropriate documentation and correcting errors.
• Reviews and reconciles vendor invoices for accuracy and validity to ensure prompt payment.
• Coordinates and communicates with other departments as needed to resolve customer and vendor issues to ensure complete and timely processing of transactions.
• Performs monthly account reviews for basic customer and vendor accounts to ensure appropriateness of open items.
• Prepares journal entries as needed, including month-end journal entries.
• Responds to external and internal customer inquiries in a timely manner with a high-level of customer service.
• Assists in preparing reports and schedules for management, customers, vendors and auditors as necessary.
• Acts as a backup and assists other employees with activities as requested.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio Headquarters, required. * Bachelor's or higher level degree in Accounting preferred. * 1 year of Accounting experience preferred. * High school diploma or GED required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
