VCA Central Kitsap Animal Hospital is expanding its team and looking for Veterinary Assistants!

Are currently working in a veterinary wellness setting and looking to take the next step in your career? VCA Central Kitsap Animal Hospital is a hybrid practice offering emergency, internal medicine and urgent care in addition to wellness veterinary care. Take that next step and use your current knowledge as a stepping stone to expand your skills! Our veterinary assistants are an integral part of a dedicated team providing compassionate care to all of our patients. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

• Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.

• Venipuncture

• Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.

• Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.

• Discharge instructions with clients.

• Complete estimates, basic record keeping.

• Recovering patients from anesthesia.

• Dentistry and dental radiographs.

• Pharmacy.

• Processing laboratory samples in-house and preparing laboratory samples for outside labs.

• Diagnostic Imaging.

Compensation: $ 17.00 – 22 /hour.

Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. Typically, 4-day work week, from 8.5-10.5/hrs.

Requirements:

• 6+ months experience as a Veterinary Assistant or currently enrolled in a Veterinary Assistant Program.
