2 Vacancies for General Laborers: Approximate season: June 1 - September 25, 2024 (allows for some flexibility)
Laborer position in Surveys will assist in performing routine survey activities and operate and maintain survey crew equipment and supplies. (1)
Laborer position in Construction will assist the Inspectors on job sites with materials testing, quantity documentation and basic duties to ensure program delivery requirements of the unit are accomplished. (1)
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, Laborer General applicants must meet all the following:
Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak, and understand oral and written information; communicate with employees and the public in-person or via two-way radio and other electronic devices; and to maintain routine written logs and simple records.
Ability to understand and follow verbal directions sufficient to interpret, communicate and carry out verbal assignments, safely, efficiently, and independently.
Possess the ability to perform manual labor sufficient to complete assignments. Strength and ability necessary to bend, lift, dig, reach, and load heavy materials.
Endurance required to perform tasks under extreme environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, rain and wind.
Ability to understand survey equipment including the operation of digital level equipment, personal computers, and GPS receiver.
Valid Class D Driver‘s License at time of application.
Preferred Qualifications
Survey or mapping experience
Experience using basic hand tools
Knowledge of Trimble data collectors, Total Stations, and GPS receivers.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Higher Education students studying for a ConstructionTechnology, Civili Engineering, GIS or Land Surveying degree.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of these job will vary, but typically requires the ability to lift up to100 pounds maximum with frequent moving and/or lifting or otherwise transfer of objects such as 50-pound bags. This job also may require walking or moving or standing or sitting to a significant degree on rough terrain or may involve sitting most of the time with pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls. This job will require strenuous physical labor including but not limited to digging, shoveling, hauling, crawling, bending, pushing, pulling and climbing. May require frequent exposure to weather elements year round (cold and hot) on a daily basis as well as working near traffic and heavy construction equipment.
