Job Description

Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Energy team, we are looking for a talented Junior Digital Engineer to join our growing digital team.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 1-2 years’ post-qualification experience.

As a Junior Digital Engineer at AECOM, you will be incorporated into design teams and encouraged to use your understanding of ISO 19650 methods to ensure compliant and efficient delivery of real-life projects.

You will work in collaboration with a diverse range of engineers, particularly, civil, structural, process and MEP, where you will have the opportunity to learn the engineering design requirements while having the freedom to explore improvements to design processes which we feel could be enhanced.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a global design consultancy and on high profile projects, using cutting edge technology and processes to overcome to real-life design engineering problems.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will work under general supervision to assist with the below activities:-

  • Information Management, in accordance with ISO 19650, and digital adoption across the sector (Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Renewables and Nuclear decommissioning)

  • Identifying areas where upskilling and support in project delivery is required to successfully deliver digital methods of working.

  • Acting as BIM Manager/BIM Coordinator/Information Manager across multiple projects or frameworks.

  • Ensuring suitable resources are identified and allocated to projects.

  • Work with the Energy Digital Lead to plan and develop digital strategies and successfully deliver owned elements of the plan.

  • Work with the Energy Digital Lead to enhance AECOM’s market profile as a leading provider of digital solutions in the Energy end market through thought leadership pieces, conference presentations, professional meetings etc.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Engineering, Information Technology or Analytical Science (preferred – masters in BIM/IM)

  • Basic knowledge of coding language such as VBA, C, C#, C++, Python

  • Understanding of automating workflows for data collection and analysis

  • Understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, such as Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate

  • Understanding or intuition in digital UI / UX design

  • Knowledge and experience ISO 19650 suite and related BIM standards

  • Experience of delivering multidiscipline engineering projects with digital tools

  • Experience working with Common Data Environments (CDE’s) such as ProjectWise, ACC, 4Projects, Aconex, or similar

  • Trained in Autodesk CAD packages, such as Civil 3D or Revit.

  • Experience in Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Grid Modernisation or Renewables projects is desirable

  • Membership of a professional institution is desirable

  • Individual BIM certification with recognised body e.g. ICE, BSi, BRE, etc…is an advantage
