Job Description

Leader in contract metal fabrication has an immediate opening for a Fabrication Department Supervisor. This is a full-time salaried permanent position. The position requires experience with all aspects of metal fabrication relating to shearing, punching, laser operations and material forming along with a working knowledge of fabrication practices.


  • Directs and supervises the activities of employee s in their manufacturing department, as well as performing their own production assignments as directed.

  • Assigns duties to meet production schedules using independent judgment, knowledge of personnel, materials and equipment.

  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining appropriate production records and reports.

  • Analyzes and resolves production problems and recommends measures to improve manufacturing methods. Consult with Operations Manager and others to resolve manufacturing problems and departmental processes.

  • Responsible for the effective use and maintenance of machinery, jigs, dies, fixtures and the quality of work in the department in accordance with drawings and specifications.

  • Trains and instructs employees in safe, effective work methods and enforces company rules and handles first step grievance procedures.

  • Coordinates activities with other department supervisors as authorized to maintain production standards and schedules.

  • Performs other duties assigned by Operations Manager to gain exposure and experience required for personal growth and advancement.

  • Responsible for department compliance with ISO9001-2008 and/or 2015 standards.

Working hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM


  • Plans and schedules work to meet production schedules.

  • Utilizes equipment and materials to meet defined quality standards in the manufacture of products.

  • Maintains standards for cost, quality, labor, maintenance, scrap/rework, safety and housekeeping.

  • Checks production for below standard performance and takes corrective action.

  • Assigns employees to jobs. Instructs employees in performance of work and familiarizes them with company policies and regulations.

  • Maintains discipline and recommends promotion, transfer or discharge of employees.


High School


4-7 years


Five years of production fabrication operation experience is preferred. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface effectively with employees and customers, and be able to work in a team environment.
