Senior Desktop Engineer (hybrid)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Desktop Engineer to join our team. The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a standard desktop build, providing technical support and maintenance for our Microsoft Windows environment of over 300 users. This includes managing and supporting M365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and a variety of business applications within a HIPAA governed environment. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with end-users and stakeholders. 

 

*Essential Functions *

  • Device Management, configuration, and deployment.  Develop and maintain a standard desktop build, managing the release of patch updates and incorporating updates into the build. 
  • Work with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and aid in the selection of new hardware standards throughout the hardware lifecycle. 
  • Provide advanced desktop support services to end-users in a Microsoft Windows environment. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, multi-function printers, and mobile devices. 
  • Configure, manage, support M365 applications: Office, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange/Outlook, OneDrive, & Forms. 
  • Mobile device management via Intune. 
  • Administer Azure Virtual Desktop environments, ensuring performance, security, and access controls. 
  • Support and maintain various business applications, ensuring availability and functionality. 
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and security standards. 
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of desktop support documentation, including knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs). 
  • Proactively & continuously identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance the overall desktop support experience. 
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other support analysts, sharing knowledge and best practices.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses Tandigm's patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and protects Tandigm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.  
  • Adheres to and responsible to abide by all information security policies, processes, and/or activities.  
  • Reports security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization to management.  
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.  

Required Qualifications:

*Minimum * 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience and/or professional certification). 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in desktop support, with a focus on Microsoft Windows environments. 
  • Very strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune & Windows autopilot. 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications: Office, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange/Outlook, OneDrive, & Forms. 
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory/Entra, domain administration, group policies, and user/account management. 
  • Experience administering and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop environments. 
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and requirements in a healthcare or similar environment. 
  • Solid understanding of desktop hardware, oftware, and peripherals. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities -verbal and written. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred 

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), and M365/Office. 
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management, desktop imaging, and deployment tools. 
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premises and cloud technologies. 
  • Familiarity with endpoint security solutions and data encryption techniques. 
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
