Position: Sales Associate Department: Retail The Greenbrier Sales Associates are responsible for providing excellent guest service and meeting monthly sales goals. Primary Responsibilities: Acknowledge guests in a friendly and helpful manner within 30 seconds of their entry into the shop always with a smile Be able to anticipate guest needs Convey enthusiasm and a genuine sense of interest in the guest Achieve hourly and monthly sales goals Maintain a professional attitude with sincere desire to please our guests Be able to work one on one with our guests Become an expert about the merchandise offered in the shop to build credibility and increase sales. Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while being attentive to guests Build rapport with guests and identify their needs by listening and asking open-ended questions Suggest items that meet the guests needs and explain the features and benefits of the item offered Be able to keep the shop attractively merchandised and well stocked Maintain good housekeeping standards in shop and storage area Be able to follow the Greenbrier Retail Business professional dress code Be able to operate a Point of Sale system and handle cash, room charges and credit cards Work well as a part of a team Take initiative without supervision Must be detail oriented and have good organizational skills Must have a passion to sell and work in the service industry Be able to adapt to change and perform other duties as needed Normal working hours: Shop hours 9am to 9pm or 10am to 11pm 8 hour shifts Flexible working hours, shifts vary Available weekends and holidays Hours may change for special events Past work experience: At least 6-12 months sales experience required Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Communication Skill Requirements: Ability to read, write and follow instructions Ability to effectively communicate with guests, team members and management Ability to communicate in a friendly, positive and professional manner Ability to communicate on the telephone using The Greenbrier telephone standards Must be a good Listener Technical Requirements: Ability to use and understand The Greenbrier Point of Sale Retail system Basic computer skills Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages Physical requirements: Standing for 8 hours Constant moving, talking, listening, hearing, reaching, lifting at least 30 pounds, kneeling, climbing ladders Required Supervision: Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision The ability to communicate and take direction from Retail assistant managers, Retail managers and Directors.
