Job Summary:

The PlasticsMoldingTechnician primary job is touse manufacturing equipment toshape plasticcomponents for products. Your duties as aplasticmold technician are to operate, calibrate, and maintain machinery, as well as inspect finished products to ensure quality work.This requires specialized knowledge of materials, specific tools, and equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare plastic molding machines for production runs, ensuring all parameters are correctly configured.

  • Operate Low Pressure Molding machines and related equipment to produce high-quality plastic parts.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Low Pressure Molding, such as Low-Pressure Molding expansion, cooling, and cycle time optimization.

  • Monitor production output to ensure that molded products meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections on molded parts, adjusting as needed.

  • Handle and manage raw materials, including Low Pressure Molding pellets, ensuring proper feeding into the molding machines.

  • Oversee material blending and mixing processes to achieve desired Low Pressure Molding characteristics.

  • Maintain accurate records of production data, including machine settings, process parameters, and quality control measurements.

  • Provide detailed documentation of any adjustments made during the molding process.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

  • Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns.

  • Assist in other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Good verbal communication skills are required.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations for measuring and adjusting machine parameters.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing production needs.

  • Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in plastic molding is a plus.

  • 6 years ofexperience as a Plastic Molding Technician with a focus on Low Pressure Molding.

  • Strong knowledge of Low-Pressure Molding materials, molding processes, and machine operation.

  • Knowledge of MS Office Applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Employeesmust regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Charles Industries weight rule: 35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone. 35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so. 50 lbs. or more requires the employee to get assistance or use a lifting device. (i.e. pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system).

  • Vision abilities required are close, peripheral, and depth. Must have the ability to recognize color.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described are rep esentative of those an employee encounterswhile performing the essential job functions.

  • Employees regularly work near moving, vibrating mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock.

  • The noise level is moderate.
