Company Overview:

Summit Materials Finance Group (SFG) is a subsidiary of Summit Materials, Inc. Summit Materials acquires and grows heavy-side building materials companies in the aggregates, ready-mix concrete, cement, asphalt paving, and constructionindustries in the United States and British Columbia, Canada. SFG provides accounting services and support for several Operating Companies of Summit Materials.

Position Summary:

Responsible for prompt, accurate set up of vendors. Support invoice processing and vendor payments for multiple operating companies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Entry of invoices into multiple accounting systems
  • Complete timely and accurate set up of vendors
  • Support management of Accounts Payable email inboxes
  • Support processing of invoices in multiple accounting systems
  • Support vendor payment processing
  • Research and resolve AP issues with vendors and company personnel
  • Assist in month-end close process
  • Recommend ideas for process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a professional/office environment
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities/projects in a professional manner
  • Strong analytical and follow-up skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong computer and data entry skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong customer service orientation with a high energy level
  • Ability to work well under pressure of strict deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, computer terminal and keyboard, facsimile, calculator, and understands computer basics. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
